The PVR-502w lasers came in today, and unfortunately they did not work. After swapping the stock laser out, I came to the conclusion that the laser diode was not lighting up and was therefore not detecting the discs. I have a feeling that they are wired a little differently than the pvr-502w lasers, but future experimentation will help with that conclusion.

As of right now, I need to document what parts of the laser connects to which pin on the connector in hopes of detecting any differences. If this does not work, then I fear the only solution will be to disassemble the laser and swap the laser diode with that of the new lasers. This may or may not work, but is worth a shot as currently the stock laser is very troubled and reads the discs every now and then.
